Energy & Environment: Enterprise & asset investment

The Enterprise and Asset Investment (EAI) group within CRA’s Energy & Environment practice advises clients on the valuation of existing energy sector businesses and assets and assesses the economics of new investments across the energy sector, including electric generation and networks, gas resources, pipelines and distribution systems, and renewable energy.

EAI’s work reflects CRA’s hallmark strength in analytics. We use CRA’s extensive energy markets modeling capability to analyze investments, accounting for fuel, energy, and emissions price risks. While much of our work is done for private equity, generator, and hedge fund investors, but we also work for regulated utilities that need to assess new investments through RFP and other regulatory processes.

EAI offers clients a wide variety of transactional services:

• Our auctions practice is a world leader in the use of auctions to structure efficient transactions in energy, telecoms, and other sectors
• Our financial team helps utilities and other businesses restructure their businesses and contracts in the context of bankruptcy, transactions, and capital raising
• Our risk management group, based in Houston, helps clients develop effective risk management and trading compliance processes in energy and other commodity markets (including compliance with key FERC and CFTC rules)
