Experience

Mr. Pettersen has over 20 years of experience developing risk management solutions that address credit, market, operational, strategic, and enterprise risk in the financial services industry.

Prior to joining CRA, Mr. Pettersen was a partner at KPMG LLP and most recently was head of Bearing Point’s (former KPMG Consulting) North American Risk Management Practice where he was responsible for developing and delivering world class risk consulting services. His experiences include developing and implementing multiple operational and enterprise risk frameworks for several US financial institutions, developing Basel II implementation strategies for several US large complex banking organizations, developing risk management and regulatory capital strategy for the largest mortgage company in the US, developing a stabilization and clean-up strategy after one of the largest failed merger implementations strategy in recent history, and heading numerous merger integration teams for large financial services clients.

Mr. Pettersen is a noted expert on enterprise risk management and regulatory compliance and has also served as an adjunct professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Stuart School of Business and lectured on capital markets and derivatives in IIT’s innovative Financial Markets and Trading Program.
