Education B.Eng. Mechanical Engineering, Loughborough University of Technology Experience Richard Bass, Principal, provides business strategy and performance improvement consulting assistance to organizations in the global oil and gas and power industries. Prior to joining CRA, Mr. Bass was a consultant in Arthur D. Little’s Global Energy practice. In work for clients, Mr. Bass evaluated the performance of a leading Middle Eastern national oil company including a benchmarking study to identify and recommend areas for improvement. He identified opportunities to improve the trading performance of a South American oil company by analyzing the trading department and recommending changes to risk management processes, performance measurement, and trading practices. He conducted a detailed financial analysis of a gas importation project in the Middle East where he worked on a multidisciplinary team to integrate risk analysis into a negotiation strategy for gas importation. Mr. Bass also worked for Mobil as an area business manager for the Industrial Lubricants brand and as a product development engineer of the European development program for Mobil 1.
