Experience

Dr. Parkinson, Principal, applies the financial theory of commodity and derivatives markets to practical problems facing managers in the electricity industry.  These applications chiefly include probabilistic price forecasting, asset and contract valuation, and risk management.  He has also been active in the development of locational-based market pricing and the development of competitive market structures.

Before joining CRA, Dr. Parkinson was a Director with The NorthBridge Group and a Principal with Putnam, Hayes & Bartlett, two economic and management consulting firms.  Prior to joining PHB, he was a senior associate with Resource Planning Associates.  He has also consulted with the Decision Analysis Group of SRI International and with Braxton Associates.
