Practice overview

CRA’s Energy Practice provides expert economic and business consulting services to a wide range of electricity and industrial clients. We typically work with regulators, investors, utilities, generators, oil and gas/LNG companies, and chemicals clients. The services we offer include expert witness testimony, market analysis and modelling, regulatory policy analysis and strategy, commercial strategy, transformation operations and execution, portfolio and asset optimisation, and transaction advisory and valuation services.

What do we look for in candidates?

We are looking for intern and full-time candidates with a strong interest in the energy industry. Applicants with skills in both energy and economics/finance (demonstrated through coursework or work experience) will be viewed most favourably. We place high value on research experience, computer and programming skills, presentation and communication skills, and strong writing ability.

Full Time and Interns – We are seeking final-year (full time) or penultimate-year (intern) undergraduates or masters and PhD students who are majoring in economics, finance, mathematics, physics, engineering or another quantitative discipline.

Role of junior staff

  • Facilitate workshops, problem-solve with multiple stakeholders, provide governance support to enable board meetings in merger projects, track and compare financial and operation key performance indicators for clients.
  • Review documents, identify key pieces of evidence from public sources and documents supplied, analyse and present data using Excel, perform discounted cashflow analysis in Excel, contribute to report writing, proofreading reports before final submission.
