CRA Careers - Practice Areas - Intellectual Property

Intellectual Property

  • CRA provided analysis and expert testimony on behalf of a healthcare technology company in a patent infringement case against the subsidiary of an industrial conglomerate. The jury agreed with our damages assessments and the court awarded judgment in favor of our client in excess of $164 million.

  • Providing expert testimony on damages issues, CRA helped Sprint obtain a favorable economic outcome at trial when Vonage infringed on several of their patents related to voice-over-Internet protocol technology. Subsequent to that trial, we assisted Sprint in connection with negotiations that resulted in an $80 million settlement.

  • The Intellectual Property practice offers CRA clients concise, credible, and defensible information on a full range of IP matters involving patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and copyrights. By bringing clarity and objectivity to intellectual property issues through rigorous, fact-based economic and financial analysis, CRA has been able to help organizations value, protect, and fully leverage their IP assets. Our team has worked extensively with companies to maximize the value of IP portfolios and with legal teams to provide accurate, data-driven analysis and testimony. We are also called upon by our clients to perform valuations for the purpose of mergers and acquisitions, licensing negotiations, or tax reasons, and to evaluate strategic business decisions as they relate to a client’s intellectual property holdings.
