Dutch Slaughterhouse merger cleared in Phase 1

The European Commission cleared Sovion's acquisition of Hendrix Meat Group on 22nd December 2004 after a phase 1 investigation. The affected markets concerned the slaughter of pigs, sales of fresh and processed meat and the disposal of abattoir by-products. We provided economic advice to the parties throughout the investigation.
