On September 29 2010 the European Commission accepted the commitments offered by Italian energy company ENI to divest its stakes in three international gas pipelines to Italy. This brings to an end a lengthy Article 102 investigation by the Commission which centered on the claims that ENI may have abused its dominance by engaging in exclusionary conduct (including capacity hoarding, quality degradation and strategic under-investment). A CRA team including Cristina Caffarra, Lorenzo Coppi, Giulio Federico and Valter Sorana advised ENI on this matter, focusing in particular on whether the Commission's allegations of "strategic underinvestment" were economically sound.
See the Commission's press release for further details.
