Kai-Uwe Kühn to succeed Damien Neven as Chief Economist at DG Competition

CRA's Academic Associate Professor Kai-Uwe Kühn of the University of Michigan has been appointed the new Chief Economist at DG Competition, to succeed Damien Neven who held the position since 2006.

Professor Kühn is a noted IO economist with a record of publications both on theory questions and policy issues. He has worked as academic advisor to CRA in Europe since the late 1990s on a large number of matters, both before the European Commission and other jurisdictions, on issues ranging from mergers to abuse of dominance to collusion cases. He has made numerous contributions to the policy debate, from the appropriate treatment of coordinated effects in mergers, to the analysis of bundling and conglomerate concerns, vertical restraints, and information exchanges.

He will take up the Chief Economist position as of 1 May 2011.
