The Autorité de la concurrence (French Competition Authority) has announced today the appointment of Thibaud Vergé as its Chief Economist with effect from 1st February.
Thibaud Vergé is a research fellow at the Laboratoire d'Economie Industrielle of CREST, the economic research centre of the French national institute of statistics. He is a renowned researcher in industrial economics, particularly in the area of vertical relations. He has also been an Academic Associate of Charles River Associates for the past two years, and has contributed to the development of our Paris office.
Together with CRA, he has advised on a number of cases before the French and EC authorities. He has also been an active contributor to the debate on the review of the EC regulation and guidelines on vertical restraints.
His appointment is a further positive signal from the Autorité de la concurrence of the key role economic analysis will continue to play in the investigation of cases in France.
