Dr. Giulio Federico, Senior Consultant, is an economist specialising in competition policy and industrial organisation, with particular expertise of competition issues in regulated industries (energy and telecoms). He has provided economic advice on several merger cases, including Centrica/British Energy, Ryanair/Aer Lingus (for Aer Lingus), Telkom/BCX, Essent/Nuon (for the NMa), GDF/Suez, Sonaecom/PT, Gas Natural/Endesa, EDP/GDP, and Deutsche Borse/Euronext/LSE. He has also been involved in various abuse of dominance cases, including Comair v. SAA in South Africa (for Comair) and Tomra. He is a faculty member at the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics, and a Policy Research Fellow at IESE Business School (where his research focuses on energy markets). He holds a PhD in Economics from Nuffield College (University of Oxford).
