Diana Jackson has advised clients on a wide variety of issues in a range of industries over more than ten years. She has particular experience in merger investigations, having worked for the merging parties on European Commission investigations, including UPS/TNT, INEOS/BASF Styrolution, Unilever/Sara Lee Personal Care, INEOS/Kerling, KarstadtQuelle/MyTravel, Andersen/Ernst & Young, GE/Honeywell, and Airtours/First Choice (both at the Commission stage and in the Court of First Instance appeal), as well as on cases before the UK authorities (Jewson/Build Center, Travis Perkins/BSS, Centrica/Lake Acquisitions, Home Retail Group/27 Focus Stores, Pan Fish/Marine Harvest, Centrica/Rough). She has also worked on several cases before the German Bundeskartellamt and has appeared as an expert witness before the South African Competition Tribunal and the Swedish Market Court. This work has involved unilateral, coordinated, vertical and conglomerate effects analysis, and 'failing firm' issues, and has covered a broad range of industrial sectors, with a particular focus on energy markets. She also has experience in non-merger cases, including damages assessment in cartel cases, studies of geographic market definition in energy markets, examinations of the comparative efficiency of alternative payment schemes for music rights and the economic analysis of the effects of allegedly anti-competitive rebate schemes.
