CRA’s economics consultants provided Yellow Media Inc. with economic analysis in its CAN$225 million acquisition of Canpages. We empirically tested whether advertising rates were lower when Yellow Pages competed with Canpages in local markets. No such effect was found, and the merger was cleared without conditions.
