Economics of auction markets
Michelle Burtis was retained as an expert by counsel for Newfield Production Company in the matter: Branta, LLC et al. v. Newfield Production Company. Dr. Burtis advised on issues related to the economics of auction markets and found that the economic evidence was not consistent with the plaintiffs' theory of alleged bid rigging and antitrust injury. On April 12, 2018, the US District Court for the District of Colorado found that there was no evidence of bid rigging and that plaintiffs failed to prove antitrust injury. CRA’s team was led by Dr. Burtis and included Daniel Garcia-Swartz and Diana Saenz.
