Colin Johnson is a vice president in CRA’s Energy Practice. He has more than 20 years of experience in the energy and infrastructure sector with a particular focus in the power, oil and gas industries. Mr. Johnson has international experience in analyzing, negotiating, and managing major energy projects and has worked in Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. He has acted on behalf of national governments, large companies, and entrepreneurs in international arbitrations and litigation as an expert witness for a variety of cases ranging up to US$50bn+ in claim value.
Mr. Johnson joined CRA from Grant Thornton UK where he most recently served as Head of International Arbitration and Global Head of Energy and Environment. In these roles, he acted as an expert witness on a variety of different international cases as well as advising on power related issues in various places around the world. Prior to joining Grant Thornton in 2004, Mr. Johnson was Project Director for a proposed new build power plant project at E.G.E. Haina, the largest power company in the Dominican Republic, and Investment Manager at CDC Capital Partners (which became Actis, Globeleq and CDC), a multi-asset emerging market investor focusing on Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
He frequently speaks at industry conferences on energy and arbitration matters. He is multilingual and speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and German.
