Dr. Derya Eryilmaz is an associate principal in the Energy Practice of CRA. Her responsibilities include overall managing various energy regulatory and litigation cases while specializing in applied economic analysis of the energy sector. She provides rigorous economic analysis surrounding advisory, regulatory and litigation cases using applied econometric data analytics and stochastic modelling. At CRA, she has managed various regulatory and litigation cases and worked on state regulatory filings involving rate cases, integrated resource planning, litigation cases, demand forecasting and natural gas pipeline construction projects.
Prior to joining CRA, Dr. Eryilmaz was a consultant in the Washington D.C. office of NERA Economic Consulting; she was also with the Energy practice of Navigant Consulting in Boulder and Houston offices. Responsibilities included consulting services including energy market design, utility strategic planning and evaluating market power.
In addition to her consulting experience, Dr. Eryilmaz has published several peer-reviewed journal articles including the Energy Journal and Energy Economics on renewable electricity and demand-side management. Her doctoral dissertation focused clean electricity policy uncertainty and economic analysis of the integration of renewables and demand response in the United States using empirical and stochastic optimization methods. Her early academic work also focuses on natural resource economics including valuation of woody-biomass in the Midwest.
