Stanley Besen

Senior Consultant to CRA

Stanley M. Besen is a nationally recognized expert in the economics of intellectual property rights, telecommunications policy, and telecommunications and computer standards.

Dr. Besen’s distinguished career in academia and as a senior government policymaker makes him one of the most knowledgeable experts in his field. He is the author of three books, has published extensively in professional journals, and frequently appears as an expert witness on intellectual property rights and telecommunications issues.

In addition to teaching at Rice University, Columbia University, and Georgetown University Law Center, Dr. Besen was Brookings Economic Policy Fellow for the Office of Telecommunications Policy, Executive Office of the President, and Co-Director of the Network Inquiry Special Staff of the Federal Communications Commission. Prior to joining CRA, he was a Senior Economist at The RAND Corporation.
