William H. Hieronymus
It is with great sadness that we announce that William Hieronymus passed away on November 21, 2015. Bill was with Charles River Associates for more than 40 years. He began his career at CRA in 1973 with our Competition Practice, but he eventually began consulting on the competitive economics of electricity. Bill will be missed by all who had the opportunity to work beside and with him.
To follow is a brief summary of Bill’s career.
William H. Hieronymus consulted to electricity and gas companies, their counsel, regulators, and policymakers. Dr. Hieronymus specialized in the structure and regulation of network utilities and associated management, industry policy, and regulatory issues, and conducted an array of assignments for energy clients in the United States, Europe, and the Asia Pacific region. He testified frequently before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, state regulatory commissions, and in federal courts on market power and related regulatory policies and market rules. He also assisted energy clients in strategy matters relating to acquisitions and mergers.
Prior to CRA, Dr. Hieronymus was a member of the Management Group at PA Consulting. He was previously an officer at Hagler Bailly, Inc., and Putnam, Hayes & Bartlett, Inc. where he worked on the restructuring of the UK and continental European electricity sectors.
