CRA consultant and academic affiliates receive Antitrust Writing Awards


April 2015 -- Charles River Associates has announced that Fiona Scott MortonCarl Shapiro, and Sean Durkin were recognized with 2015 Antitrust Writing Awards at a ceremony hosted by the Concurrences Journal and George Washington University Competition Law Center on April 14 in Washington, DC. “Strategic Patent Acquisitions” by Professors Scott Morton and Shapiro examines the economic effects of strategic patent acquisitions and discusses their antitrust implications. It was recognized as Best Intellectual Property Article in an academic publication. “The Discount Attribution Test and the Competitive Effects of Loyalty Discounts,” by Dr. Durkin was recognized as Best Economics Article in the Business Articles category. The article shows that the discount attribution test framework provides a simple, intuitive way to illustrate the procompetitive consequences of loyalty discounts. The Antitrust Writing Awards aim to promote antitrust scholarship and competition advocacy by recognizing and awarding the best articles published in antitrust law and the law and economics fields over the last 12 months.
