Geoffrey Senogles specializes in international arbitration. Mr Senogles is a chartered accountant and heads CRA's European team of forensic accountants based in our Geneva and London offices.
His practice focuses on investigative accounting and the measurement of financial losses; specializing in international arbitration disputes (treaty and commercial), joint venture disputes (reviews and audits), loss of profits, sports, business valuations, royalty audits, financial investigations and compliance – including US Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He has worked on assignments across western and eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa and North America; including three years on staff at the United Nations Compensation Commission, Switzerland. He has testified in the High Court, London, in ICSID, ICC, LCIA, and SCC arbitrations; at the Iran-US Claims Tribunal and at TAS/CAS Court of Arbitration for Sport; and has also acted as expert in UNCITRAL, Energy Charter Treaty and AAA arbitrations. Sector experience includes renewable energy, oil and gas, sports/football, telecoms, banking, restaurants, pharmaceuticals, industrial processes and commodity trading. Mr. Senogles is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA) and an associate member of the Academy of Experts (MAE).
He speaks Welsh, English and French.
Since 2009, Geoff has lectured on financial damages on the MIDS LL.M programme at the Universite de Geneve | Graduate Institute, and has been invited to lead seminars at the Swiss Arbitration Academy, the Universite de Fribourg, Switzerland and at CEPMLP, Dundee University, Scotland. He provides training in financial damages to law firms, is on the board of editors of the Journal of Damages in International Arbitration [Juris Publications], and speaks at legal conferences internationally. He has been appointed to the boards and advisory boards of several international companies active in various sectors.
Since 2012, he has been listed in The International Who's Who of Commercial Arbitration. Mr. Senogles is described as "fantastic" and as a "leading expert" in international arbitration and is noted for his “strong financial mind” and for being "efficient and highly accurate." He is included in Who’s Who Legal Arbitration: Expert Witnesses 2017 as he “regularly assists arbitrations as an accountancy expert witness, offering substantial expertise in assessing financial loss.” In Who’s Who Legal – Quantum of Damages, Mr. Senogles is considered “a definite inclusion," especially for his "excellent marshalling of complex material, which is presented in a clear and practical manner."
