Dr. Goran Vojvodic’s background is in operations research. He provides analysis related to resource adequacy and resource planning, risk management, market power, and analyses involving mathematical programming, statistics, stochastic modeling, and data analytics.
At CRA, he has worked on regulatory filings involving mergers and acquisitions and market-based rates, litigation cases, evaluation of risk management strategies, resource planning, and environmental compliance evaluation. He has advised electric utilities, investors, and industry trade groups. Dr. Vojvodic’s prior industry experience includes working on the real-time trading desk at Dominion Virginia Power. In this position, he interacted with PJM grid operators, power plant operators, and other wholesale market participants to manage the real-time financial position and ensure safe and reliable electricity supply.
In addition to his industry experience, Dr. Vojvodic has studied various energy markets and electrical grid concepts from an academic perspective. His doctoral dissertation was focused on applying stochastic optimization and statistical modeling to issues faced by energy markets participants in economic dispatch and capacity expansion planning. His research on the operations of storage in real-time markets has won an award from the Energy, Natural Resources, and Environment section of INFORMS.
