Jon Dyson is Associate Principal in the Energy Practice of CRA. He specializes in digital transformation projects and upstream oil and gas operations. Prior to joining CRA he led the development of a new practice at Wipro in London, focusing on remote commerce services and business operations for clients in the retail, consumer goods, manufacturing, and energy sectors.
He has expertise in leveraging digital technologies to enable businesses to better serve their customers, reduce security risks, and meet stringent regulations. For a major UK utility, he created a new customer-facing site, increasing the adoption of online journeys by 270% and reducing costs by 24%, elevating the client’s negotiating power with regulators.
Mr. Dyson was previously a senior wireline field engineer with Baker Hughes, where he led well data-logging operations in remote, time-pressured, and physically demanding environments. Other projects included managing the end-to-end setup of a new remote operation in Tanzania and conducting field research to improve sidewall-coring success. Whilst studying his MBA, Mr. Dyson conducted a research project for Petrofac on the drivers of cost and productivity in US shale exploration, informing the board’s five-year strategic agenda.
