Mason Kissell

Global Managing Director at Marakon

Mason Kissell helps organizations transform by bringing to the table a shared fact base, challenging with empathy, and having an unwavering commitment to the sustainable success of the business. He is a trusted advisor and partner and has earned the confidence of executives he works with to effect change.

In his 30+ years with Marakon, Mason’s work with his client partners has focused on results and capabilities – never one without the other. Mason helps clients focus on three core tenets: manage value-to-consumer and value-to-owners in a mutually reinforcing way; create tight linkages between governance, strategic, operating, and economic models; and build a criterion for decision-making that is aligned with value growth, capturing trade-offs between the top line, bottom line, and investment over time. Mason imbeds clients with better strategies, optimized allocation of resources, and rewiring of the organization – structure, processes, information and people – to achieve and sustain higher levels of performance.

As Global Managing Director for Marakon, Mason’s two passions outside of client service are developing a highly capable and dedicated team and working with the Marakon Directors to ensure the firm’s strategy, offer, and consulting practices are leading edge. He is a steadfast leader valued by peers for his collaborative approach to decision-making and problem-solving, and by his team for his unwavering support, mentorship, and investment in their professional development.

Mason holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Denison University. He is a father of three and has been married to his wife Susan for more than 30 years. Mason is an avid fly fisherman, enjoys sporting clays, woodworking, and time in the garden. He and his wife are active with JDRF and have been involved with several community organizations over the years including Ridgefield Council for the Prevention of Substance Abuse.
