With the energy industry rapidly evolving due to clean energy integration and technological advancements like Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), it is vital for utilities to advance on energy pricing and business models. Traditional retail rates must adapt to a customer-centric landscape while preserving equity, affordability, and efficiency.

In December 2023, Amparo Nieto, a Principal at Charles River Associates (CRA) with over 25 years of experience in innovative rate designs and regulatory policy, launched a member-only working group focused on these very issues. This biannual “Think Tank” gatherings of energy sector professionals from private and public utilities in the US and Canada is a platform for directors, managers, and analysts in the field to share insights and ongoing initiatives, receive feedback and brainstorm on key rate design and regulatory matters as they transition to a modern, decarbonized grid.

For the upcoming Spring meeting, taking place in June 10-11, CRA is opening a limited number of spots to non-member utility representatives interested in experiencing the group, and enjoying a unique networking opportunity while participating in the focused group discussions.
