One firm, many hands: CRA's global day of service celebrates 60 years of giving back

To mark CRA’s 60th anniversary, teams across our global offices spent the month of June giving back—each hosting a local Day of Service to honor our legacy of purpose-driven work and community engagement.

From Zurich to Houston, Boston to Toronto, each office crafted service initiatives that reflected the unique needs of their communities. And while the projects varied, the impact was unmistakably aligned: one firm, many hands, and a commitment to building stronger, more connected communities.

Local Acts, Global Impact

Boston: Our Boston team partnered with Generus to create custom financial literacy board games for students at KIPP-MA in Lynn, a longtime CRA community partner. The event was joyful, collaborative—and a powerful reminder of how creative engagement can spark real-world learning.

Chicago: Team members in Chicago came together to assemble over 500 meals for The Night Ministry, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals facing poverty or homelessness. With care and collaboration, the team helped advance The Night Ministry’s mission of delivering housing, health care, and human connection to those who need it most.

College Station: In Texas, our College Station team worked with FYR Aggieland (Forging Youth Resilience) to install new tires on bikes used in youth programs. It was a hands-on learning experience that sparked new skills, meaningful connections, and an ongoing commitment to community impact.

Dallas: Our Dallas team partnered with Hugs Cafe Inc., preparing meals for the nonprofit’s catering services and supporting its mission to empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through meaningful employment.

Düsseldorf: In Düsseldorf, team members led a clean-up effort along the Kittelbach River—removing debris, clearing overgrowth, and helping restore a vital waterway. Their work supported both the local ecosystem and the broader community, reflecting CRA’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and service.

Houston: CRA’s Houston office packed more than 3,700 lunches for Kids’ Meals, Inc., a nonprofit focused on ending childhood hunger. The meals were delivered directly to children’s homes throughout the greater Houston area.

London: The London team spent their Day of Service enhancing a local city farm—a vital green space for schools and families in the community. From painting animal shelters to shoveling compost, their work supported sustainability, education, and access to nature in the heart of the city.

Los Angeles: Colleagues in Los Angeles partnered with the Collins & Katz Family YMCA to support local food distribution efforts. Working side by side, the team helped provide essential items to families across the city—demonstrating the power of collective action and CRA’s ongoing commitment to community impact.

Munich: In Munich, team members took to the trails for a Charity Hike supporting Kinderhospiz München, which provides care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families. With every meter climbed, they raised funds and awareness—combining purpose, teamwork, and a powerful show of community in action.

New York City: Team members in New York partnered with Volunteers of America–Greater New York to support Operation Backpack, a program that provides school supplies to children experiencing homelessness. The team packed 33 backpacks—each with a handwritten note—helping set students up for a strong start to the school year.

Oakland: Colleagues in Oakland joined volunteers from across the community at the Alameda County Community Food Bank (ACCFB). Throughout the day, volunteers packed over 32,000 pounds of food—providing 27,150 meals to the surrounding community.

Salt Lake City: Our Salt Lake City team helped prepare and serve dinner to 259 guests at Saint Vincent de Paul’s Dining Hall. The dining room operates seven days a week, serving two meals a day—and last year alone, provided more than 530,000 nourishing meals to those in need.

Summit: Colleagues in Summit, NJ volunteered with GRACE (Giving and Receiving Assistance for our Community’s Essentials), helping distribute nutrient-rich food and essentials to local families—fostering well-being and dignity.

Toronto: Team members in Toronto spent the day at a local food bank, sorting and packaging meals for individuals and families facing food insecurity. It was hands-on work that reaffirmed the importance of collective care.

Zurich: The Zurich team embraced both environmental stewardship and family support. Volunteers helped clean up the shores of Lake Zurich—preserving a vital natural space in the heart of the city—and packed school supply backpacks for Petite Suisse, supporting students across Switzerland.
