I joined CRA in March of 2022.

At the time, the pandemic produced large backlogs at USCIS. The processing time could have easily extended for more than 6 months, which could have impacted some of my benefits, such as health coverage.

Throughout this process, the immigration team personally supported me and took care of every detail of my case. The lawyers who supported me did an amazing job. They accompanied me throughout the whole process, answering any questions I had.

For me, all the care and attention to detail is truly priceless.

My situation was quite unique, but the immigration team went above and beyond to make me feel accompanied and supported at every stage of my immigration process. All members of the immigration team are extremely attentive and understand the difficulties and stress that the immigration process can bring. Whoever joins CRA can be assured that they will be supported by a great team and, above all, good people.

I joined CRA as an international student during my OPT. At the time, I was at the milestone of finishing my first year OPT and needed to apply for the STEM OPT extension. Right after accepting my job offer, the immigration team reached out and helped me with the STEM OPT extension application process. I was supported from the moment I joined CRA, including through the entire immigration process.

The immigration team also offers office hours, making it easy to schedule calls to answer questions at any time. When the third-party law firm was involved in the process, they acted as a vital link to ensure seamless communication.

The immigration team has been a reliable resource for international travel. In January 2020, during the COVID outbreak in China, travel bans were put into place. The immigration team reacted promptly and reached out to me because I had reported that I would make a trip back home to China that month. I cancelled the trip, but I heard from other colleagues about their conversations with the immigration team, who had been great help during this unpredictable time.

CRA’s immigration program makes those of us who are from diverse international backgrounds feel welcomed and supported every day at work.

As a student visa holder, finding an employer who sponsors my work visa process was a big challenge during my job search. In my previous experiences, there was limited resources and I was overwhelmed by all the information.

During my first phone interview, the first question I asked was how the visa/green card sponsorship works at CRA. I was happy to hear that there is a dedicated immigration team who would support me.

When I received the offer, CRA set up a meeting with the immigration counsel for me, who explained the process and went over all the details in my case.

When I started, the immigration team and counsel helped me with my STEM-OPT extension with clear instructions and sample documents with the answers provided.

The immigration team and counsel were attentive at each step of the process, with the team guiding me through screen sharing while I submitted the online application.

Thanks to CRA’s support, I was able to save so much time and energy, allowing me to focus on working instead of being overwhelmed and distracted by the complicated immigration processes.

I felt very valued by the support I received from my CRA colleagues during the whole process. I truly felt that everyone cared about me, and everyone was very supportive and understanding whenever there was a change because of my visa situation.

I’ve seen many unfortunate cases where international students must compromise the job they want due to immigration issues, and I am very grateful that CRA was supportive throughout the immigration process, and I still get to do a job I love without compromise.
