A steel producer asked CRA to assess the competitive cost positioning of major international steel companies. We analyzed the costs at specific steel plants in Europe, Asia, South America, and North America. We analyzed the costs in detail to help identify key differences in cost drivers such as labor productivity, yields, and reject rates. Our study helped the client understand its own competitive positioning and identify areas for cost improvement actions.
