Investigation into allegations of accounting irregularities for publicly traded company

Magnifying glass in the laptop in the dark

CRA’s Forensic Services Practice was retained by Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath’s White Collar Defense & Investigations Practice, on behalf of the board of a publicly traded company, to investigate allegations of accounting irregularities, undisclosed conflicts of interest, and the falsification of SOX 404 internal controls testing by members of the internal audit team. The legal team was led by Faegre partners Joel Hammerman and Antonio M. Pozos.

In less than a month, our collective team helped assess the technical accounting and SOX 404 internal controls testing, engaged in discussions with the external auditors, and reported regularly to the board. Ultimately, the company was able to release its 10-Q on schedule as planned, strengthen its internal control environment, and reaffirm its commitment to transparency with its auditors.
