Optimized eDiscovery for large-scale government inquiry

Data Vortex Stream
Challenge:
CRA Forensic Services professionals were engaged to support data collection, analysis, and production in response to a government inquiry concerning the organization’s dealings with another company, alongside additional allegations of misconduct. The matter required a legally defensible, regulator-ready eDiscovery approach capable of handling large data volumes across multiple systems under tight timelines.
CRA approach:
CRA experts oversaw all aspects of the electronic discovery process, collecting, processing, and analyzing more than 5 TB of data from numerous disparate sources. Senior forensic professionals led the overall strategy and liaised closely with external counsel, while experienced staff executed data ingestion, processing, and quality control, facilitating both depth of expertise and operational efficiency.
Working collaboratively with counsel, CRA professionals applied defensible eDiscovery methodologies and developed targeted review strategies, leveraging predictive analytics and advanced filtering to prioritize relevant material. This approach significantly reduced review volumes, allowing counsel to focus on key issues and accelerating the production process while maintaining accuracy and following regulatory expectations.
Client impact:
Throughout the engagement, CRA’s Forensic Services team demonstrated responsiveness, clarity in communication, and meticulous attention to detail, providing regular status updates and clear, actionable insights. The team’s approach balanced investigative thoroughness with cost control, reducing review time and expense without compromising quality or defensibility. As a result, the client was able to meet its regulatory obligations efficiently and effectively, supported by a transparent, well-documented process that reflected high professional standards and enabled informed decision-making.
