CRA’s Forensic Services Practice was retained by Latham & Watkins to assist a private equity firm recover its losses after investing in a new portfolio company, and later discovering that the financial statements relied upon in due diligence were materially false. The team, led by Kristofer Swanson, with assistance from Jordan Kraner and Jessica Guiang, preserved and analyzed accounting records and digital evidence, conducted witness interviews, and prepared claims against sellers and OldCo management, as well as an insurance claim under a representations and warranties policy. The client obtained full recovery of the policy coverage.
