Analysis of aluminum industry for industrial manufacturing development program

CRA assisted a major Middle Eastern government entity analyzing the aluminum industry as part of a wider industrial manufacturing development program. This analysis included a screening analysis to identify and prioritize aluminum opportunities. In order to successfully prioritize, several factors had to be considered such as energy and labor intensity by product type and current and future requirements for Middle Eastern countries. In this context, CRA was not only able to determine the likely shortfall in production for various products but identify the more attractive opportunities for future production facilities. Included were opportunities for expansion of extrusion product facilities and the potential opportunities for a multi- purpose flat products mill to service local and regional markets. This also provided a platform to develop selected fabrication industries that would greatly expand labor and energy opportunities.
