CRA’s Forensic Services Practice was hired by a European life insurance company that had obtained a $200 million arbitral award against its controlling owner, who had improperly drained assets from a related party. CRA was retained to search for unencumbered assets which could be targeted to enforce the award in the US courts. Our team conducted searches for unencumbered assets across multiple US and European jurisdictions. We identified and analyzed public and private companies of potential interest, real property, debtor/creditor relationships, related parties, litigation history, and significant personal assets. We successfully identified over 500 business affiliations across three continents. The client used our analyses to develop a successful legal strategy for potential enforcement.
