On 17 July 2019 Germany’s Federal Cartel Office announced it would close its investigation into Amazon’s “Terms and Conditions” of business with third-party sellers on its marketplace, following undertakings by Amazon to amend certain terms.
The FCO had initiated an antitrust investigation into Amazon’s T&Cs with sellers on its German marketplace in late November 2018. Agreed changes to business terms extend to Amazon’s marketplaces worldwide and will be effective as of mid-August 2019.
CRA advised Amazon in the course of the investigation.
