CRA has represented licensees before copyright arbitration boards in the United States and Canada. CRA experts have testified regarding reasonable fees to be paid to collecting societies such as the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP); Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI); the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA); the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCA); and the Neighbouring Rights Collective of Canada (NRCC). Music uses at issue have included cable television services, pay television audio services, nonsubscription internet audio services (both commercial and noncommercial), background music providers, and ringtone providers.
