CRA’s Energy team supported a large metals and manufacturing client in developing an energy and power strategy across its mills in multiple US power markets, both regulated and deregulated.

The team, led by Mayank Saraswat and Arnie Lowenstein, built a repeatable analytical framework, long-term market scenarios, site-specific delivered cost forecasts, and a baseline financial and risk assessment, which was used to evaluate physical and financial options, including hedging and contracting structures, on-site generation, and PPAs for each site.

The work gave the client a fact-based, board-ready view of where cost and reliability risks were concentrated, and which strategies created the most value under uncertainty.
