CRA was engaged by a $1.5 billion industrial technologies company to find a buyer for its wireless LAN portfolio involving more than 150 US patents. CRA partnered with the client’s technology and patent experts to create a valuation model and marketing package for the patents up for sale. Through the valuation process, CRA identified potential buyers for the portfolio. Tapping into CRA’s network of IP professionals at law firms and companies, CRA was able to set up meetings with companies that were actively engaged in the development and manufacturing of wireless LAN technology. One of those companies ultimately acquired the client’s portfolio for $24 million. CRA assisted the client during the entire transaction process.
