CRA’s Forensic Services professionals were retained by Jones Walker to assist its client, a genetic testing lab, respond to False Claims Act whistleblower allegations that it had furnished and billed federal payers for tests that were not medically necessary. We reviewed a sample population of charts for subjects who had been enrolled in clinical trials and assessed their eligibility for inclusion. Our findings allowed the client to mount a vigorous defense and achieve a favorable outcome.
The team was led by CRA Forensic Services Leader and Vice President Kristofer Swanson, with invaluable assistance from Patricia Peláez, Principal.
