Emilie Bartels is an associate principal in the Competition Practice at Charles River Associates.

She joined CRA in 2021 and worked in London for 4.5 years before relocating to Sydney, Australia. Emilie has extensive experience advising on complex competition and regulatory matters, including horizontal and vertical mergers, abuse of dominance investigations, damages litigation, and market inquiries. Emilie has advised clients before the Australian ACCC, UK CMA, European Commission, and other competition authorities worldwide. Her work spans a wide range of industries, including multi-sided digital platforms, technology, broadcasting, payments, retail, pharmaceuticals, veterinary services, building products, and insurance.

Prior to joining CRA, Emilie completed a master’s degree in both economics and law, with a specialisation in the field of competition and regulation. During her studies, she also worked at the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets and Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis. Emilie is fluent in English and Dutch.
