For the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Solid Waste (OSW), CRA experts performed a financial and economic impact analysis of the alternative waste management procedures being considered by OSW for regulation of large-volume mine, mill, and backfill wastes under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). The analysis estimated mine closures; production cutbacks; employment losses; effects on market prices; and impacts on trade for the copper, gold, lead, phosphate, silver, uranium, andzinc mining sectors.
