CRA’s Labor & Employment Practice was engaged in a wage and hour class action involving a large manufacturing company and allegations of lost overtime premiums under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) arising from timekeeping rounding practices.
The matter spanned numerous locations, departments, and job roles across multiple states, with varying rounding policies and systems that differed across groups and evolved over time. CRA conducted a comprehensive data analysis, systematically generating hundreds of charts and visualizations to identify distinct rounding patterns and employee groupings.
This approach enabled counsel to distinguish between populations subject to different practices, substantially reducing the potential class size and supporting a highly favorable settlement.
