The Risk, Investigations & Analytics (RIA) team was engaged by a large pharmacy chain to analyze prescription opioid dispensation patterns and trends in specific southeastern US counties.
Data analytics experts assessed the pharmacy’s market share against its peers, identified suspicious activities, and developed tests to detect anomalies based on customer, physician, and pharmacist behaviors. The findings were presented to external counsel and pharmacy chain leadership, highlighting violations, areas of impact, and opportunities for process improvement and increased monitoring.
