For a major global single product focused metal producing company, CRA evaluated the potential to significantly and sustainably enhance shareholder value as well as building a premier global metals and materials company with a clear, differentiated identity. The overall strategy was to continue to grow and improve the core business and accelerate growth to achieve a larger size through a multi-metals strategy. In our analysis CRA screened a series of potential targets to arrive at a list of priority metals/ minerals and potential targets. The analysis included about 30 metals and materials and nearly 200 potential targets. The screening process involved evaluating the global markets for the various metals/materials and the financials and synergies of the various target companies.
