For a large mining company that requested a quick- response study, CRA identified potential market entry opportunities in the secondary metals industry. We reviewed promising possibilities in the markets for gold, silver, gallium, germanium, superalloys, titanium, tungsten carbide, and lead. Particular attention was given to secondary industry structure and trends, supply- and demand-side technological issues, and role models to emulate in the search for profitable ventures. The study resulted in the identification of some viable opportunities for our client in the area of scrap recycling.
