A global telecommunications vendor equipment company engaged Charles River Associates to perform an IP management benchmarking analysis as part of a restructuring of their IP management processes and operations. CRA conducted interviews with inventors, IP administrators, IP managers, and patent counsel at various locations worldwide to identify corporate IP best practices and to better align the company’s IP portfolio and strategy with the company’s overall business goals and strategies. CRA recommended and implemented a strategic initiative to assess cost effectiveness using external versus internal resources for the corporation’s large IP operation.
