Many legal services organizations and defenders encounter challenges that could benefit from expert support without realizing that those needs can be translated into discrete expert projects. This introductory session helps participants identify where experts may add value in both casework and organizational operations. Participants will learn how to recognize common “pressure points,” from underutilized data and complex financial issues to workflow bottlenecks and capacity challenges, and how to frame those needs into practical, high-impact requests for expert collaboration that can strengthen outcomes and expand organizational capacity.
The session will combine a panel discussion, real-world case studies, moderated Q&A, and practical “how-to” takeaways. It will focus on helping legal services organizations and public interest lawyers recognize opportunities for expert collaboration and better understand the resources available through the ExpertConnect Pro Bono Hub.
