Wildfires, and wildfire risks, are rising in Nevada, increasing financial exposures for utilities.
NV Energy, the state’s largest utility, has proposed a $500 million insurance plan, funded in part by ratepayers, to help manage potential liabilities if its equipment is found to have caused a fire.
