FTCWatch recently conducted an in-depth interview with Vice President Nate Goldstein, exploring his transition from a distinguished 23-year tenure at the Department of Justice to his new role in CRA’s Antitrust & Competition Practice. The article highlighted Dr. Goldstein’s impressive legacy at the DOJ, where he served as chief of the economic litigation section in the Antitrust Division prior to joining CRA in October 2025.
Since beginning his DOJ career in 2002, Dr. Goldstein took part in key investigations spanning industries from aluminum manufacturing to the market for kitchen appliances. He and his team notably led litigation in 2021 challenging the proposed merger between major book publishers Penguin Random House and Simon & Schuster.
Reflecting on his transition to CRA, Dr. Goldstein attributed his decision to the firm’s work product, which he saw during his years at the DOJ.
