Charles A. Trabandt

Senior Consultant

Mr. Charles Trabandt currently serves as Chairman of the Advisory Councils to the Board of Directors for both the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations and the Electric Power Research Institute.

He is a senior financial, regulatory, and strategic planning professional with experience in financial transactions and strategic advisory engagements. He has advised major corporations and government clients in the global energy and power sector, including CEOs, boards of directors, and cabinet officials. Mr. Trabandt is experienced in leading multidisciplinary teams in analyzing complex financial and strategic issues, successfully executing resulting transactions, and achieving related regulatory and legislative objectives.

Previously, Mr. Trabandt was a vice president with the CRA’s Energy Practice. Prior to joining CRA, Mr. Trabandt was Managing Director of the Global Energy and Power Group, Investment Banking, at Merrill Lynch & Co.; Commissioner of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission; Chief Counsel and Minority Staff Counsel for the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources; Executive Assistant to the Secretary of the Department of the Interior; Minority Staff Counsel with the House Committee on Science and Technology; Program Manager of Energy and Intelligence Projects at Tetra Tech, Inc.; Intelligence and Operations Officer at the Central Intelligence Agency; and Nuclear Submarine Officer with the US Navy.
