Lorenz Adams

Dr. Lorenz Adams is an associate principal in the European Competition Practice, based in the London office. His work focuses on applied econometrics and machine learning in the context of competition and regulatory matters.
Prior to joining CRA in January 2026, Lorenz gained experience in both academia and economic consulting. He received his doctorate in economics and econometrics from the University of Exeter and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral fellow at a tax administration research centre. There he conducted an empirical analysis of the impact of the 2008-2009 Stamp Duty Land Tax holiday in Wales using data from the HMRC Data Lab.
Lorenz has worked as an economic consultant on a range of competition matters, including merger control, cartel damages, as well as efficiency and regulatory analysis. He has advised clients across the UK and Germany. His consulting work focuses on the application of advanced econometric techniques and modern machine learning tools to empirical analysis.
Lorenz is bilingual in German and English.
