CRA’s Energy Practice recently completed a comprehensive commercial due diligence for a significant private equity fund contemplating an investment in a Central Eastern European natural gas distribution asset. The commercial due diligence focused on evaluating the long-term sustainability of the asset under varying market and regulatory scenarios. The team developed a series of detailed energy transition scenarios extending to 2050, aimed at rigorously assessing the business case for both the regulated infrastructure and the non-regulated activities of the asset. Additionally, CRA’s experts offered insights into the operational aspects and the quality of the asset base, thereby providing a holistic view of the investment’s potential and risks. The engagement was led by Tilmann Hensel-Roth and Anthony Boden.
